Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) has announced a strategic partnership with Mentor Graphics (NASDAQ: MENT), licensing to Agilent certain products in the Mentor Graphics Volcano(r) product line. The Agilent LIN Tester, derived from Mentor's Volcano LIN Spector(tm) product, and the Agilent Vehicle Protocol Tester Series 500, derived from Mentor's Volcano TELLUS(r) product, help automotive engineers develop electronic products faster and under budget while meeting quality requirements.
Philips Semiconductors launches innovation in IVN technology with first LIN transceiver
Philips Semiconductors, a division of Royal Philips Electronics, has announced the planned introduction of the company's first LIN family product. The TJA1020 stand-alone LIN transceiver features low power moding, local and remote wake-up (source recognition), fail-safe features and excellent EMC performance, making it ideal for use in automotive applications.
Single Chip LIN Transceiver and Vreg ICs Reduce Component Count of In-Vehicle Networking Applications
AMI Semiconductor (NASDAQ: AMIS), a leading designer and manufacturer of state-of-the-art integrated mixed-signal and structured digital products for the automotive, medical and industrial markets, has announced new devices that bring together LIN (Local Interconnect Network) transceiver and voltage regulator functionality in a single low-power, mixed-signal chip. The integration offered by the AMIS-40615 and AMIS-40616 will allow automotive design engineers to improve the reliability while reducing the component count, power consumption and cost of LIN-based in-vehicle networking (IVN) applications.
New enhanced 4-channel LIN Transceiver MLX80001 reduces system costs for Multi LIN master systems
LIN nodes continue their exponential growth rates in cars resulting in master modules controlling multiple LIN busses. To address this growing need for multi LIN transceiver systems Melexis introduces a 4-channel LIN transceiver IC.
LIN slave MLX80103 enables easy LIN connection of switch modules
Melexis extends its family of smart LIN slave IC's with a reconfigurable LIN switch slave. MLX80103 can be used to interface with any door, roof, seat, steering wheel, dashboard, HVAC, light control or similar switch module. For this purpose Melexis and BMW Group have jointly developed a universal configuration of the MLX80103.
New low cost LIN System Basis IC with RESET/Watchdog unit
The LIN bus (Local Interconnect Network) continues its successful adoption in automotive and industrial applications with the release of LIN version 2.0 and the release of SAE 2602 Networking specification.
AMI Semiconductor behaviour model saves time and cost for IVN test and debug
AMI Semiconductor (AMIS), a leading designer and manufacturer of state-of-the-art mixed-signal and digital products for the automotive, medical, industrial and military / aerospace sectors, has introduced a new analog interface behavioural model in VHDL-AMS for the testing of in-vehicle networks (IVNs).
Comfortable Design of LIN Architectures and Subsystems
Stuttgart, 01-30-2007 - Vector’s DaVinci Network Designer LIN gives automotive OEMs and system suppliers a user-friendly tool for designing individual LIN buses, independent LIN subsystems and complex network structures. The tool enhances productivity compared to text-based LDF editors and other tools due to its application-oriented display and editing of data. Knowledge of the LDF syntax is not necessary.
Serial Bus Systems in the Automobile
Part 3: Simple and cost-effective data exchange in the automobile with LIN
In just a very short time the LIN bus has established itself as the technology of choice for simple and cost-effective data exchange in the automobile. Today, many automotive OEMs are relying on LIN to transmit non-critical signals in the body/convenience area. The following article points out the reasons for the victory of LIN(Local Interconnect Network) in the automobile and explains the underlying technology.
LIN transceiver with an integrated voltage regulator
Dortmund: With its E910.48, ELMOS presents a LIN transceiver with an integrated voltage regulator. The chip, equipped with a LIN 2.0 compatible transceiver, also provides a watchdog with adjustable triggering time. The E910.48 fulfills the high requirements commonly agreed by the German OEMs and is available as a volume product. Strong emphasis has been laid on EMC and ESD measures to fulfill the high automotive requirements. As a result, a system level ESD stability of more than 12kV (according to IEC61000-4-2) has been achieved.
